I was wondering, if I get windows pro on my laptop, will I have powerpoint use forever or just a limited time trial ?

You'll get a trial version of Office whether you buy WinXP Home or WinXP Pro. But it's NOT attached to Windows. If you format your harddrive and reinstall WinXP, the Office trial- and all the other "junk" HP loads for you- will be *poof* - gone. So- NO- it's definitely not a part of Windows. :)

Check with your school- you can usually pick up student licenses CHEAP!
