I'm really despaired.. Many notebooks downgraded to XP, but now almost a week of searching nothing - none of xp sound drivers for this HP passed...
Fresh windows xp installation. New microsoft UAA bus driver for hdaudio installed (in device manager no changes after this update), tried install audio drivers from there http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=228&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=3255508&lang=en - no success.
I have vista on other partition, and sound works fine...

In Device Manager go to your sound controler and under driver select update and then select the option to search the internet for a driver. Worth a try.

Everything is already OK! My previous cd install with XPsp3 (tweaked) was maybe unstable, or sp3 caused problems, now with original cd with sp2 - all steps from above gone smooth (audio drivers from hp - sp34204.exe ) http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...n&cc=us&lang=en&os=228&product=3284495&dlc=en :D
Thanks everybody for helping me. Good luck with Your problems, bye.

    Update:
Now i know what's happend. Guilty is.. Microsoft  Everything explained here http://boredsysadm.blogspot.com/2008/03/windows-xp-sp3-and-microsoft-hd-audio.html
After this i was able to keep my system, with sp3 and of course with working audio, untouched ;) Maybe it helps somebody else :)

I have a feeling the problem would have been solved by changing the registry to make the installer think you had SP2 installed instead of SP3... I had to do this for my Compaq I'm getting rid of...It worked for a couple of drivers.
