For a while, i've been stuck on the sager 17 inch models. Eventually, with the money saved up I was going to pick 1 of the 17 inch models simply because i liked all of the models i saw. Then I found this forum and a couple of threads later, i started looking at the hp notebooks.
Personally, all i envision doing on the notebook would be to watch dvds, play games (farcry, UT, etc) and do the occasional web surfing whenever im not doing the aforementioned.
And while I probably dont need the uber, high end, 3k+ models, i like to ensure myself that the laptop i will inevitably get will not frustrate me with the lack of speed.
So, naturally, the sager models, being overpowered and surprisingly cheap, was number one on my list. But while reading some reviews about how the zx znd zv5000 work, its leading me to believe either the zx or zv5000 would suit me fine..
So any sort of information on how any of the three computers (sager np4780, zx5000 and zv5000) work would be much appreciated

I can't comment on any of the units you listed, but I personally would recommend that you get the most bang for your buck. If you're planning on playing games like FarCry & UT (I assume 2004), you're gonna require a very powerful graphics processor, and having a powerful CPU will just help overall. Seeing that you were considering a 17" model, mobility is probably not too much of an issue for you and this will primarily be a desktop replacement (gaming unit), and anything for gaming you'd want to get as much power as you can afford.
I would probably recommend a unit with a Graphics Chip with DirectX 9 support otherwise newer games may not work with 64MB minimum of dedicated video memory. A CPU that will not cause any bottlenecks and probably between 512MB to 1GB of DDR Ram. With these general specs, you should have a system that will not make you frustrated due to the lack of speed.
Again, this is only my 2 cents worth and others may disagree with me, but I don't think anybody will disagree with getting the most bang for your buck.
Good luck, I hope my 2 cents helps you make a decision.
