    Q about Hp Laptop's charger cord getting hot quick?

    I just bought my laptop back on Superbowl sunday @ best buy in store..its what i know its a HP g62 3.00 GB GhZ AMD phenom II p650 dual-core processor
    64-bit operating system
    about a 300 gig harddrive.

    At first when i got it,the charging cord wouldn't get hot(the thing you can unconnect..its that squarish tihng..)
    then yesterday i noticed its been getting hot after like 10-15 minutes or so if the laptop being on.

    is this usual?my ACER laptop at 3 years old now,doesn't even get this hot...

    are you talking about the cord, or the brick?

    the brick gets pretty warm on my dv7 - not uncomfortably warm (can still hold it) but pretty warm

    if the cord itself is getting hot or if the brick is getting so warm that you can't hold it there's something wrong

    and by brick I mean the rectangular box that the power cord plugs into...
