When reviewing owner opinions, those that do have problems with their HPs often seem to complain about the quality of the customer service. Apparently, the service folks are in India and don't always speak great English. Of course, it could be that only people with problems post in this regard (or at least mostly so). I would appreciate feedback on what the HP overall rep is for customer service. Is it not that big of a deal, or is it more, you will probably get a good unit, but if you don't, pray?

I have a DV8230us and I love the machine. Since I updated the bios and installed Vista all of my keyboard sticking problems have gone away. I
I have spoke to Support about this and was like talking to the wall. When I tried to install Vista and I could not dut to the bios that again was useless. That time I was on the phone 4.5 hours and still no further ahaed then when I started. Also I was disconnected 7 times , everytime I called back I would be subject to start back at square 1.
I was on the phone with them today and need a new keyboard due to my son breaking the KN plastic key and 2.5 hours later I still was no further ahead. They wanted me to send it in and could not give me a setimate of when I would get it back, I asked to just buy the part and I would install it they told me the part was unavailable? Why?
Machine is nice but the worst support in the industry..... -
I have 2 desktops (never needed to call CS), 2 cameras (again, no need for CS), and 3 printers (I needed to call on 2 of them).
The CS, while not the quickest in the industry, was acceptable. I waited a bit longer then I wanted to, but not long enough to make me angry... and I tend to be an impatient man. In both cases the result was faulty ink cartridges, and since I only buy HP ink, the sent me replacements and paper. The reps were knowledgeable enough to have at least appeared to be trained in what they did, helpful enough, courteous, and professional... if not somewhat difficult to understand through their accents. I certainly wish we could keep jobs in the US, if the company is from the US, not only for our nations financial wellbeing, but also for the sake of our understanding people who are trying to help us with complex machines. But I digress...
My experiances were not computer related, but they were HP related. I give them 3-3.5/5 stars... not spectacular, but at least average.
Quality of HP Service??
