I was just wondering, how can I gain the performance from updated ATI drivers while still maintaining the ability to switch graphics cards? Is this possible? Thanks.

You can't. You're stuck with HP's driver, which unfortunately will never be updated again.

You walked through the steps given in the first post? Did you have to do anything differently?

I didnt follow any of the steps given there. Just ran the installation of the driver once the download was complete. The previous driver installed on the system was the one provided by lenovo. I just chose the custom install during setup & made sure the driver was indeed being upgraded from the lenovo one.

Some people do recommend using driver sweeper to be on the safe side. But try just overwriting the current driver (make sure the ATI gpu is active when you do the installation). If that fails then use the driver sweeper method.

Just to double check, you CAN install AMD's normal drivers, right? I don't care about having access to Intel's video, but obviously being able to install AMD's newest drivers is critical.

Yes, you can. But don't expect support for graphic related problems from here. :)

Nice, so long as the normal drivers install without resorting to hacks, I'm happy! :)
