I have a couple quick questions about the envy here:
HP ENVY 14-1111nr - Buy from Microsoft Store
It currently says the laptop is out of stock; will more laptops be made and set up for sale? or is that all? This deal is pretty much over?
Also; if more do come, what is the warranty on this laptop? Can I extend it to 3 years if I wanted too? How much would that cost?

I called the Microsoft Store and the representative said it will "for sure" (although I have a bit of doubt when I heard this) be restocked in the future, although he cannot guarantee when that will be (or will the price still be $799 when restocked).
I did find the 1110-nr deal on Amazon however. Does anyone know the difference between 1110 and 1111? And the price difference becomes around $50 because Amazon charges no tax (in my state, at least) and shipping becomes free if you have Prime or choose Super Saver. -
They said the same thing about my wife's Toshiba A665-3DV1. She ordered it and the screen went out the second day. The deal was so good that I recommended she get it repaired by toshiba versus getting the 3DV7 at the difference of cost. So my guess is that they will get a slightly different model and it will be at full cost once they do until the next sale.

Interesting....I just went to the Microsoft store website and actually can't find the envy 14 anywhere anymore. Maybe its just me, but even when i search for I come up with nothing.
-
what exactly is the difference with all these models exactly?
i got the 1000, the original I guess -
I thought Microsoft doesn't charge tax. If they do, I wouldn't feel as bad for getting the Amazon one.
-
I tried yesterday (while still in stock, but not enough money on my card) to try to purchase it to check if it charges tax, and it did put in taxes here. Again I live in CA, so it may be different for everyone.

I stand corrected
-
it's back in stock
-
if anyone wants to buy it, i would buy it now. I called in about an hour ago and the sales rep said they are taking the offer down tonight and they only have a few (3 or 4 is what he said, but there could be more idk) left!
AND you may have to call in to get the $799 deal because at the last step before it charged to my credit card, I noticed it was the original price $1049, and i had to call the microsoft store to get the discount. -
They do charge sales tax in states that tax online purchases. -
They were going to charge me sales tax. I went with Amazon. I am a Prime customer. Amazon has always been great in taking care of any issues I have had with purchases. The little extra was worth the price difference.

Even though the Envy 14 at $799 can no longer be found using Microsoft's search, the direct link works and shows its in stock... what to think ?
One downside, it does not offer the radiance display ...
I am torn between getting :
- this one for $799
or
- the Radiance + i5-560 for $1099 using a $200 coupon.
What is better ? -
-
Just did, I wasn't sure which way to go until meetleo09 gave us a coupon for $500 off a $1399 setup.
This effectively beats the microsoft deal as I paid $1028 for an i5-580 + Radiance 4 gb on 1 Dimm + 1 spare 8 cell battery -
One plus purchasing fro the MS Store is they dont have all the blot wear installed like buying from HP
At least that what they told me. -
I can confirm what 1k9 said. My Envy just came in today from Microsoft Store and a lot of bloat seems to be gone.
At least the thing felt a lot more stock-ish; there was not even a HP welcome screen, but just the default Windows welcome screen.
