Everyone has mixed reviews of HP's shipping saying they got it late, very early, or on time.

HP says that they will need a signature confirmation in order to deliver the computer - is this true? if so, can anyone give me advice as to when to "guess" my notebook wll come - it said Estimated ship date would be august 9th

    Thanx.

My guess is once you get a FedEx (or other) tracking number, You can track the package and know what day it will show up at your house. At least this is what I am counting on.

I just got my laptop in today. It took around ~23 hours to ship to MD, and the total order time took 11 days.

oooh boy! that is some excellent news. i'm in MD too and i ordered and confirmed mine on the 21st. expected ship date is tomorrow (30th). i'm guessing i'll have to wait til early next week. i don't know if i can wait that long. in the meantime to keep me occupied i am researching/buying all the goodies to go with it (mouse, case, protection software, mike, etc.) see my post on the accessories board if you'd like to chime in. i am really excited to get it hooked up to a wireless network and play some RoN. weeee!!!![ :D]

Mine was supposed to be delivered 7/20/04 - It arrived 7/13/04 - a week early.

As far as signing for it, mine was shipped via Fedex, and I have a delivery waiver on file with them so they just dropped it off.

I've never heard of a delivery waiver before. I'll have to look into that. I only work a half day tomorrow, so I should be around if it shows up then. I was wondering if anyone knows if they deliver on Saturday or if anyone has received theirs on Sat.

If mine doesn't show up by Monday I'm thinking of taking the day off just show I can be there to sign for it. [ :D]

As for accessories, I went with the logitech MX 700 and the logitech extreme gaming headset. I use shopping.com and they had a smokin' good deal on the mouse ($10 off rebate til the end of Sept. I used newegg for the headset.) I'm still hunting for a bag. I liked one of the Targus ones and will check it out on Saturday at BB.

My HP is shipping a week early. The problem I am having is that I have a FedEx number (from HP's site), but FedEx has no record of the package yet. It has been 16 hours since I discovered the tracking number on HP's order status site. I have talked with both HP and FedEx. HP is saying it is shipped (left the warehouse) and FedEx has no knowledge of it in their system yet so they told me to check with the shipper (HP). Is this normal?

    Thank you in advance.

yes thats normal...once it said the package was "shipped" it took over a day for there to be any fedex record of it...so yes thats normal...expect it at your house before the end of this week

    Hi JC,

    I ordered 7/26.
    Est. Ship 8/9.
    Est. Delivery 8/12-14
    Actual ship 8/2
Actual Del. 8/?? (expecting by the end of week. no date on FedEx yet)

FedEx finally has something on the shipment (a day and a half after HP posted the tracking number). It is coming from Shanghai, China. Wow. I do remember reading something about it coming from China in the forums. I guess I thought if it was built in China, it would get shipped here to HP then HP would ship it to us. Now, just watching (FedEx) and waiting.

I wish you (and others) well with your deliveries.
