If I understand this correctly, the "Upgrade Bay" is the place where the DVD optical drive is. In the online configurator, there is an option to select a 250GB HDD for the bay-- but there is a DVD Lightscribe option just below that:

If the 250GB HDD is selected, shouldn't this remove the Lightscribe drive from the configuration? How can both drives be present in one slot?

    Or am I missing something?

I think the HP has two slots, I noticed that and it is the only way it makes sense.

Well, the 250GB HDD might be an option along with the DVD drive, so you can choose to use either the HDD or the DVD drive.

I had thought so at first until I looked at the Maintenance Guide. It does not go into any detail, but the "Upgrade Bay" arrow is pointed directly at the optical drive tray cover. Confusing.......

If this is the case and one of them ends up coming in the box as an accessory add-on, I wonder which one is actually factory installed?

Its usually the DVD which comes standard...the HDD is the optional upgrade.

Thanks. Do you know if it is difficult to swap?
