    http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Sea...duct=Mobile+Intel®+965+Express+Chipset+Family

I went here to update my Mobile Intel 965 Express Family Chipset, but every time I do so an error message pops up during installation and says it will exit the setup.

I don't know what's going on. I've also seen multiple names for this chipset which confuses the hell out of me.

Any more details you guys need I'll be more than happy to supply.

Click on "Windows Vista Home Basic 32-bit" and "Drivers" for the two columns.

EDIT: When I tried updating the driver the screen went to this ridiculously small resolution (about 1/10th or 1/8th of the screen was visible) and then it flashed back to the original resolution.

Did you uninstall the old driver before you tried installing the new driver?

(please make sure you have a copy of the old driver on hand just in case it will still not work)

I was instructed by Device Manager to restart my computer. Upon start-up I was given this message twice:

"Error in igfxdev.dll, Missing Entry: UninstallTVWizard"

I did not uninstall the old driver because I am not sure how to copy it.

It probably means you should leave it well alone. There is no performance boost to be gained with new Intel drivers because the chip itself is weak, so if it doesn't do anything horrible you should stick with the version HP offers.

Thank God I'm building a desktop, haha.

Thanks for everyone's opinions on this matter.
