    I gots a quick question.

I have a dv5t customized laptop, with 1 year accidental drops and spills warranty.

If anythings happens to this laptop (for example a spill a glass of water on the keyboard causing the laptop to fry), what will HP do? If im not mistaken isn't the dv5t discontinued?

I am just being curious, that is all.

While it may be discontinued, they still carry a HUGE inventory of parts for it. Whatever would be affected by that water would be replaced with a new part, even if they had to replace it all (I assume). A more likely scenario if the entire notebook was ruined, they would just offer you another model.

They would either replace the parts or offer a equal or better (that's the premise) laptop.

HP will have your back. If they can't fix it, then the "meet or beat" clause would go into effect when getting a replacement.

HP stocks parts for most notebooks for 5 years. As far as accidental damage goes, if they are the same as what most other companies then its up to them to make the decision on weather to replace the notebook or not. if the spill ONLY fries they keyboard they conceivably could just replace your keyboard. If it does in the board and so on or if the thing is dropped and mangled (key phrase here is "beyond economical repair") then its meet or beat time. So you would get a unit that is the same as or better than yours, as far as HP is concerned "same as" where possible.

You'd be surprised over how many back order complaints appear on these forums.
