I purchased my ZV6000 in late September. Starting a few months ago I have realized my drive (dvd burner and cd burner) doesn't always resond correctly. By this I mean, I will push the button and it won't always eject, sometimes taking numerous times to get it to open.

Once I insert a cd, dvd or game it won't always load the disc (these disks are in working condition).

And finally I have trouble ejecting discs from the drive. I have had trouble with skipping during playback which was resolved with HP support. Also, my laptop will stop playing a disc if it is picked up or moved during playback.

I am becoming more and more irritated by my drive not opening, recognizing discs, and ejecting. Does this sound like a defective drive to you guys/girls? I have reinstalled drivers but no problems have been permanently solved. HP says it isn't a defective drive because "drives don't go bad that quick". Do you think I should call HP again and ask for a new drive? Thanks.

Thanks for the input. Has anyone else had similar problems? If so, how has HP been with requesting and receiving a new drive?
