    Hey everyone,

I know that I have a 1 year warranty for my new laptop. Do I have to go online and register for it or what? Or can I call over the phone?

nope, you don't have to do anything. If your laptop breaks down within 1 year (manufacturer warranty), just show them your proof of purchase, such as receipt or online order stuff. They only care about your purchase date.

We bought my laptop at Wal-Mart. We also bought a 2 year warranty from them (Wal-Mart). Will it help at all?

There is no need to register for the warranty with HP but you can register on the website (link) which is optional. I would recommend doing that and also keep your receipt/proof of purchase in a safe place until your warranty expires just in case you might need to prove the validity of the warranty.
