The laptop I bought back in August came with Vista Home Premium 64-bit, so later this month I will be receiving the free Windows 7 "upgrade" disc from HP... My main question is, will I or won't I be able to do a clean install with just this disc?

You should be able to choose which you can do one once it detects a valid copy of Vista, whether a in place upgrade or clean install.

I think there's limits on what paths you can do in place upgrades for, I read you can't do a 32 Bit Vista to 64 Bit 7 upgrade, but clean works fine, better that way anyway.

Under Vista, you could only upgrade to the same language. I don't expect that to change with Windows 7.
