I received my Envy on the 12th with these specs:
HP ENVY 15t Quad
Windows 8 64
4th generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4700MQ Processor
NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M Graphics with 2048MB of dedicated video memory
15.6-inch diagonal Full HD BrightView LED-backlit Display (1920x1080)
8GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm)
1TB 5400 rpm Hard Drive
NO mSSD Hard Drive Acceleration Cache
No Additional Office Software
No additional security software
6-Cell Lithium-Ion Battery
No Internal DVD or CD Drive
Standard Keyboard
HP TrueVision HD Webcam w/ integrated digital mic
802.11b/g/n WLAN
When it came in I noticed a really loud hard drive noise at almost all times, called support and they had me return it. From what I've seen around these forums and other sites there seems to be some issues with the hard drive noise. Does anyone who has this model of the Envy NOT experience this noise? It's honestly a deal breaker for me and if this is a widespread problem I would not recommend this laptop because it is SOOO loud.

What brand is it? The factory hdd in my Envy 17 (also 1tb 5400rpm) is HGST branded, and is not really loud.

Is it a common problem for Envy 15. I try to open the back cover but I don't know how to do it, I need some advice please.
I would like to add a MSATA 60GB and 8GBram to boost the performance or should i replace the HDD to SSD? Most of my works are stored on Cloud storage.
