To all of you owners of the Compaq v3000, does your LCD flip all the way back (180 degrees)? The HP dv2000t does not and I was wondering if the Compaq did. I saw a Compaq at CompUSA today and the LCD seemed to be able to go back quite a ways but since they bolt the computers down with some plexiglass thingamabob, you can't really see how far it opens up.

Yeah, I know most of the other laptops can open 180 degrees. Unfortunately the dv2000t can't. Wondering about the Compaq v3000.

I am not a v3000 user but I can show you what it is...

As you can see from the attached picture, maximum angle for v3000 is around 140 degree... Hope this helps

Yeah it wont go all the way down. It is limited by the hinge design same as in the dv2000t.

Compaq v2000 opens about 140 degrees due to the ac plugin port being in the back. They had to limit it or the screen would hit the cord. Its not really a bad thing though i mean who uses their laptop 180 degrees open? lol. I guess if you made a custom stand that stood it up. I have a stand that holds it at a 45 degree angle and with the screen open all the way its just right.

Actually there are some uses where having a laptop open up at a large angle would come in very handy. If your laptop is on a desk and you are standing over it typing in some data, it would be very handy to have the LCD flip quite a ways back. It just depends on how you use a laptop. (I'm not saying that it's the most ergonomic way to use a laptop, but then again, laptops are not as ergonomically designed as a desktop anyway)
