    Can I use the IR port on my dv6000t to transfer stuff from my cell phone, for example? Or does it only work for the remote? Any assistance would be welcome, thank you

    No, unfortunately it's designed for the remote control you have got with the laptop and can not work with real IR-port devices.

    Yeah, I was dissapointed to find out that not even my full sized HP Media Remote that came with the desktop I bought works on the notebook =(

    Still, I'd rather have the mini-remote then nothing at all.
