    Does this laptop have that whiny sound that i have been reading about. Or does this whiny sound not happin to many models? If it does have it, is it loud?

    It happens with any notebook running an Intel Core Duo or Intel Core 2 Duo Processor.

    It's irritating but can be remedied in many cases (at least on XP MCE machines) through a number of fix options widely discussed on this forum. Not sure if the fixes are working on the Vista machines.

    There is no way of telling if you will get one with the whiny sound, but it could happen to any model

    Is the problem also prevalent in Core Duo processors? I thought that it's mostly confined to the C2Ds
