    Questions about DV7s BIOS

    Hi there:

    I got a DV7-2111tx (Australian version), it has 2 HDDs. The question is how can I disable the "Native SATA Support" through the BIOS cauz there is very very very limited options in the BIOS.

    I don't know about the DV7 but certainly it at least seems that with my own BIOS which did not have a setup menu setting for switching to Native IDE, it was possible by finding the right bit to switch off in the flash rom. Later some people found the setup utility contained disabled menus, one of which is to switch between Native AHCI and Native IDE.

    If you look at http://marcansoft.com/blog/2009/06/enabling-intel-vt-on-the-aspire-8930g/ there are some tools to look further into this and maybe can tell you what specifically needs to be switched in the BIOS. The tools didn't seem to work for me but Dannyres was kind enough provide the setup text file with his own modified version.
