Hello all HP fans![]()
First I'm wondering if I order from HP.com, will I have to pay sales tax? I live in new Mexico. I'm so close to purchasing the dv4000 now after many many months of research :hp:
Also, I am a student, are there any nice student discounts/coupons that HP is offering and does anyone know how much you save?
Oh yeah, and one more question, is there a big difference between the 1.8 ghz cpu and the 2.0 ghz cpu in the DV4000?
I checked under student discounts but wasn't able to find any recent info on student discounts when purchasing the dv4000 so I thought I'd ask here.
Thanks in advance![]()

They have a discount for students, not too big but hey, anything is better than nothing right?

The academic discount saved me 6% on my Dv4000. On the tax, likely you won't have to pay...but only HPshopping can tell you for sure. Be aware, even if you don't pay up front some States track credit card purchases and, if they catch you, make you pay later.

Thanks for the info.

Is there a big difference performance wise between the 1.86 ghz cpu and the 2.0 ghz cpu in the dv4000? I'm getting the laptop with 1 gb of ram.
Anyone please? -
I would say no, it isn't worth the price increase, you're better off using that money towards a faster hard drive for instance.
