    Hello,

I am couple of days away from ordering this one. And, I have a couple questions.

First of all, how the performance of 100 GB 4200 rpm hard drive? Is it really badly sluggish. Should I instead stick with 80 GB 5400 rpm?

The second question concerns RAM upgrading. I want to buy a 1 GB chip from newegg, but I was wondering what exact ram type to choose. I know its DDR2, but what are the other paramaters to it? The processor I am ordering it with is Pentium M 1.86 GHz, with 533 MHz bus speed. Also, which brand should I choose?

    Thanks.

I would stick with the 5400RPM drive unless you really need that extra 20GB of storage - you'll have much better performance. It will be about 20-25% faster in general applications.

You need DDR2-533 (PC4200) RAM. I recommend Crucial, Corsair, and Kingston memory, they are reliable and carry decent price tags.

Good choice on the processor. ;)

I've had no complaints all all with the 4200 rpm drive in my notebook, of course I don't do things like heavy Photoshopping or video editing. ;)
