Other then HDX what else did you consider and why?
Other then the HD screen and 5.1 sound what other features sold you on the HDX? What was unique about this unit that sold you on the HDX?
Did you get Blu-Ray?
I was considering the HDX16t, now looking at the ASUS N50Vn-B1b. It is not a 16" screen and is more of a traditional laptop, however it appears to have superior components for a far better price after today's HP price increases.
I spent a lot of time making my decision, I really hate to change direction at this point, but can't justify the new pricing and supporting HP poor marketing decisions.
Advice welcome.

I can't begin to list all that I looked and the 'why's'. Dells, Lenovo, Sony, Asus to name a few. I was in love with the Sony AW and the Lenovo too.
I liked the look and design of the HDX16 along with the features and price.
Yes, I have Blu-Ray.
I don't know about SUPERIOR components (Intel, MS, NVIDIA, etc. in most all except Apple)
The N50VN-b1b is very nice. I liked to looks of it right away during my hunt. I clicked on it 20 times on NewEgg. It has a great 2 years Asus Global Warranty and a good reputation here on NBR.
Kind of a coin toss both are nice. I'm very happy with my HDX and now that the price went up I feel kind of smug!!!
Best of luck in you quest. -
Is the 9600MGT in the HD16 A GDDR3 card i read in another forum that it was?

2) Design, keyboard, components, plus a little smaller than a 17" which I have now.Not that it's a huge difference, just a little more mobile. It outperformed the dell and with better guts for cheaper. The alienware was just too much for me to spend, also HDX 16 and 18 have very good reviews on them (other than battery life) plus a 30% coupon sealed it for me.
3) Yes
4) You have to make an informed decision and go with it. If you are second guessing which one, keep doing some research comparing each one and narrow it down. Good luck....
