I am a senior in highschool and am planning on purchasing either an HDX16 or HDX18 for college. Right now, the HDX18 is cheaper, but which one would be the best for transporting between classes, etc? Also, how would you take notes if the battery only last two hours?

I will also have another coupon that takes off $250 from the price listed.

I think I will purchase the HDX18, and then return it in the 21 day period if I feel it is too large or something. Which one would you choose based on the specs and price and the portability for college?

I've read that the hdx18 is too big for classrooms. Wait for the 30% off coupon that comes every month. Google it.

They're nearly identical in specs but the HDX16t has something key that the 18t does not. A 12 cell battery! That will allow you to be more mobile b/c you won't have to stop and reecharge between classes. However, some things you can do to extend battery life are dimming the screen, turning off apps you don't need at the time, like bluetooth and wireless, etc, and completely shutting it down when not in use as opposed to hibernating. I'd take the HDX16t hands down over the other b/c with the free upgrades, and the fact that they throw in the 12 cell battery too, there's no reason to pick the 18t. That is, of course, if you ask me.

You're out of your mind if you're going to be taking either one to classes.. there's just not enough space man, especially in lecture halls.

Get yourself the DV3 or the DV4.

    Exactly.

I have a 17" screen and I almost never take it to class for it is too big.

It's just sits in my room.

DarLon32 has a good point regarding the battery size.
