How do you get the eject quick launch button to work after a clean install? Ive tried reinstalling the drivers and hp support wasn't any help. Also, any way to make the media smart key open a different program?

First off, when you say "clean install", just exactly WHAT did you do? If you installed anything other than a Recovery install of your original system......

It would also help to know your system's Product # (PRODUCT, NOT Model) Product # usually will end with ABA or something similar.

If you don't know, you can always open an optical drive manually when needed. What you need is a paper clip (opened up straight) to do it. If you look at the drive door you'll see a small hole - insert the end of the clip until you feel it touch the door release. When it touches, push on it to open the drive door.

You might have to mess around with it a few times to get the feel of it.

clean install of vista using the guide in the sticky. The eject button works fine on the actual drive, just not the touch sensitive button

I started a thread about something similar too... After installing QuickLaunch Buttons Drivers, the eject and TV button on a HDX 9200 don't work. Does you TV button (in QuickPlay section at left) works?

Come on... someone that has a HDX surely sometime installed a new clean Vista and went through this...

    Thanks!
