I just got a dv9207us, and immediately reformatted it using the anytime upgrade DVD. Everything seems to be working perfectly (except for the too-hot hard drive noted by others already) except for two buttons next to the power button. One of them has an icon of either a Q or a refresh looking circle on it, the other says DVD. I'm not even sure what they're supposed to do, but I can't seem to enable them.

I already installed the drivers from here:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-45931-1&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=3369389&os=2093&lang=en

The description on the download says, "This package contains software that enables customers to program Quick Launch Buttons on the keyboard and the external Easy Access Buttons Keyboard." So I should be able to reprogram these to do something else right?

Under Device manager the Quick Launch buttons show up correctly under Human Interface Devices.

Can anyone help me figure out how to set these things? Or at least clue me in on what they're supposed to do?

Bump. Surely someone can at least tell me what these buttons do on an original HP install?

The buttons(AFAIK) are not reprogramable and only work with the Quickplay software. Install the Quickplay 3.0 and the buttons should launch that software. The 'Q' button will also anable you to launch the Quickplay software even when the system is turned off(the system will still boot into Windows but will open Quickplay right after boot).
