    Quick Play 2.3 in XP wont install

    Hi

    I recently downloaded QPW 2.3 for XP to my dv6000. When run setup it completes extracting but gives the warning:

    This software can only be installed in authorized machine

    Pls. how can i get QP installed in XP.

    I assume you can't download the PDF since that is the only file in this thread. You click on it and SAVE to a directory on your HD or OPEN it in place.

    Since you can't download it you can do the following:

    Copy the following into notepad (Exactly) and save it to a filename such as QuickPlayFix.reg then click on it and run it. It will make the registry entries for you. The QuickPlay software can now be installed on your machine.

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\QPFlag]
    "QPFlag"=dword:00000003
    "@="=""

    Wow, after several times looking how to install quickplay on XP finally got this.

    Now my dv2711tx can use QuickPlay 2.3

    Thanx a lot dude.. u rocks... :D

    Open the file & save as .reg

    Hi! I tried on my DV9700T, running Win XP SP2 and it didn't help; I got the message that Quickplay can only be installed on a Vista machine. :-(

    Ahhhh! I see why, I don't have v2.3 (I have the Vista version). Do any of you have a link to download v2.3?
