Hey everyone,
My hp warranty is going to expire in 2 weeks. My power adapter broke (i know its broken, test with's friends same adapter/laptop, please don't tell me to try to fix it) What number do I call hp at to get a new one? (The hp site is /very/ confusing).
Additionaly, I don't have the original box or any product information since I lost them while moving. I only have the laptop. Is there any way I can still prove my case about my laptop?
Thanks! Very Desperate!

There should be anumber under your laptop which they can use to identify it. Just call them.

a quick google search lands here
Good luck -
1-866-474-6836, tech support should just be able to send you a new ac adapter free of charge, and they will not need the old one back usually.

Thanks caveman!
@harpreet1988, I've tried that site, except i'm kinda confused on which scenario i'm in, so thanks caveman.
As I mentioned, I don't have the original receipt, etc, so will the s/n and p/n on the bottom of my laptop be enough?
Thanks a lot! -
If youve registered your laptop with HP before, then you can probably just use those credentials

I have neveer registered my laptop with hp

Did you purchase the laptop from a retail store or did you customize it online from HP. If it is the latter then your receipt should be available online or HP would have sent email confirmation of your order. That should be sufficient to prove your case. if you ordered from a retail store and don't have the proof then most likely HP would go by the manufacture date of the laptop which can be identified using the serial number.

yea I bought it at my local office depot..., but what if the manufacturing date was waaayyyyyy before when I bought it?

just give them a call, they will get the serial number from you, and then they will tell you if you are still in warranty in the system or not. usually your serial number will start with something like cnf725xxxx. the 25 part of the serial number is the manufacture week, they will use that and add 30 days to that to account for shipping etc.
again just give them a call to find out for sure
Quick Please! Warranty expiring soon!
