Before I reformatted my computer I would be able to adjust the volume/brightness levels and a bar would show up on my screen showing how high/low the levels were. Now I longer have that. Any ideas on how to get that back?

When adjusting the audio, a beats logo would show up, with progression bars underneath it.

    I have a dv6-6170us.

I guess u didn't install HP On-Screen Display Utility. You can download it from your model driver support page. :)
