    Hi all,

My ac adapter has died and I need to take it in for waranty however I urgently need some data off it.

Am I allowed to take the hdd out of the laptop and chuck it in my slot loading hdd bay or will it void the warranty on the HP warranty for the notebook?

    Thjanks.

As far as I know, swapping out a HDD does not void the warranty on the notebook since it is designed to be a consumer replaceable component (along with the RAM).
