I was wondering if those in the know could answer me this about the HP zd8000:
I am aware it comes with two "slots" for the DDR2 memory, however, I've gotten two different answers on which of those is "user accessable". One is easily accessable on the bottom, however I've heard that the other slot is effectively soldered on, and have heard that the second slot is removable.
Is the second slot (If you can take it apart far enough to access it, of course) changable, or is it really soldered onto the board?

On the X6000 both slots are removable...one sits right above the other.....I am pretty sure that the zd8000 is the same....but I never opened one up. I think it would be alot of trouble for hp to solder in one stick...and make the other removable...then call it a dual channel motherboard, no?

The way it looks to me when looking at the service manual, the RAM is stacked one on top of the other.

the memory in the zd8000 is kindof one on top of the other, but they're just normal sockets.
