Sorry if this has already been answered, but I'm still not sure whether or not I will need a separate partition for Quickplay 3 on Vista. I just did a clean install of the OS (not using restore DVD's...don't like the junk) and got rid of the secondary partition on the machine. Should I have kept it (...or use PM to re-create it ;) )?

After I booted my new dv6500t into vista...the quickplay prompted me to download Quickplay 3.2 and let me save it as an EXE so I dont think you need the old one.

I also downgraded my TX1000 to XP last weekend...u might want to try this link...

Note: the second link may be NSFW! Just download, unzip and run setup.exe

I am not sure if this allows Quickplay Direct yet...i.e. running quickplay without booting into windows...

OK. My quickplay works from within Windows but not by itself. I shut down the lappie and press the QP button and it boots into windows...what gives??

The tx1000 series was never offered with XP and HP probably didnt bother mapping the QP button in the BIOS to start the QP partition considering in Vista it just started the OS and then loaded Quickplay.

Is it possible to use the Quickplay on a separate partition in Vista then?

QuickLook is supported on my 6910p, can I use QuickPlay instead?

Not that I know of. There might be a way to do it with Vista, search the web for more info. I remember a thread in another forum discussing about doing this but unfortunately i'm not able to find the thread right now.

No idea. I havent heard of anyone trying to do that.
