Alright I just ordered a dv9500t and then while going through the forums I noticed that a lot of people are having issues with QuickPlay not working properly on Vista machines. So I then went and I had a chat with an HP support person and she claimed that there are no known issues with QuickPlay and Vista and it still should be running the way it is suppose to be running. So can anyone who has recently received the dv9500t or any other HP with QuickPlay and Vista comment on whether QuickPlay works - as in it plays media without a full boot of Vista?

I have read of a patch that was issued back in April or so but it seems like it works for some people and not others and also that older notebooks needed an update of the BIOS. Well she assured me that there was no issue so I will be upset if it doesn't work.

There are two versions of QuickPlay--one for Windows, and one for without the boot. You'd have to manually install the non-Windows QuickPlay. The blue buttons still work; you just have to log-in through Windows (from what I can tell, its' just a normal Windows startup with HPQuickPlay application automatically started.

Yeah thats what I have been hearing but the customer support person I was in touch with insists that the non windows boot of QuickPlay still works and comes installed. Supposedly it is within the recovery partition and if you do a clean install and get ride of this partition then it wont work but it is suppose to work without the boot out the box. I said i heard it doesn't work but hey, if it doesn't work I still reserve the right to send it back and get a full refund just in case a better deal surfaces around the internets..lol.
