I guess this is not really about quickplay buttons per se. So, I installed vista with the HP upgrade and had everything working quite well. I just got a bunch of installs and re-installs built up and decided to re-install. After I did this I now have the following problems. I did the exact same install as before, with the drivers on the disc they gave me.

No mute function while iTunes is open.
No little orange light when muted.

    Any ideas out there?

I just checked it, the mute function doesn't work at all. Not even from the windows volume thing in the task bar. Yikes. Any help?

Did you install the Quicklaunch buttons driver? This is necessary for the proper functioning of those buttons. Also have you installed the audio drivers? Try re-installing them and check if it works.
