I have a DV4T with QuickPlay 3.7 software installed. I'm running Vista Home Premium SP2 32 bit. I discovered that if the Windows Error Reporting service is disabled, then an error related to QuickPlay pops up every time my computer is shutdown or restarted. There are tweak guides which say that it is safe to disable this service, but that doesn't seem to be the case for our HP laptops.

The error message says something like this:
CL RC Engine Dummy Winidow: QPService.exe - Application Error
The instruction at 0x------ referenced memory at 0x-----. The memory could not be read/written

I hope this post can save other people the hours of time it took me to track this down.
