Hello to everyone.
I recently bought a Pavilion dv7-1030ev and soon enough I realized that the QuickPlay application and QuickPlay buttons don't work together very effectively. Specifically, the application crashes frequently (not sure if it's due to the buttons), the ALT+TAB is not working at all and the playlist cannot be controled when QuickPlay is minimized. The weird thing is that the buttons work fine for Windows Media Player, even if it's minimized to the task bar.
Has anyone come across these problems with QuickPlay? Did you find any solution?
The sad thing is that I have been talking to HP techs for almost a month and they have proposed every possible solution, from full system recovery, to BIOS update and reinstallation of drivers, with no success. Even worse is the fact that all 7 HP agents I have contacted, eventually proposed that I have the notebook replaced. I did this twice already and of course, the 3rd notebook has the exact same symptoms, since it is -obviously- a software problem and not hardware.
Please, share your experience-thoughts with either dv7 series or dv5 series notebooks (I believe they all use the same QuickPlay software) related to this problem.
Thanks a lot.

I have a DV7T and noticed the problems with QuickPlay, but they eventually went away randomly one day.
They used to be buggy and inoperable at times. Other times, they would be slow to respond. -
Well, HP eventually admitted that there is a problem with the QuickPlay drivers and need to be updated. They haven't told me when this will happen, but offered me a full refund for the notebook. I grow to like the machine so I decided to keep it and just don't use the QuickPlay software. Anyway, the Window Media Center is nicer, faster and more reliable. I just wish I didn't have to go through all this trouble of replacing two notebooks, before they figure out something that shouldn't have skipped their R&D department at the first place!!!
