Under Programs and Features, I have HP Quick Launch Buttons 6.30 installed. Under SWSETUP folder, I have a QTouch folder, and when I run a program under that, it says I have QuickTouch 1.00 C4 installed. What I dont understand is what is the difference between the two and out of these two, which one controls the blue-lit QP buttons above the keyboard???

I am having some trouble launching quickplay from these buttons and want to reinstall the driver for specifically that.. I couldnt find QuickLaunch software in SWSETUP folder,... where should i look for it??

Quick Launch is the blue buttons. Quick Touch is a little box that appears in the middle of your screen when you change the volume, indicating what level the volume is at.

I searched around the forums and found this link:

This is what Quick Touch looks like:

Btw, credit to user orev for posting that picture on the forums.

I don't think you are missing anything. I couldn't find a way to re-install the original QLB software on my notebook either. You may want to read through the following before you try further to reinstall the old software. Versions prior to 6.4 allow a security vulnerability.

    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01302560&lc=en&cc=us&product=500389&dlc=

During the read of this document it appears that the only way to reinstall the original shipped QLB software is by using the Restore Disks or F11 and installing all the factory software from the recovery partition.

Hi this post is a month old but since I found a solution let me put it down, maybe it'll help somebody -

I have a HDX with vista64 and therte is no update on the HP site for QLB but I installed this and worked very well:

    ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp38001-38500/sp38171.exe

In fact it's on the very page you mentioned although it is not supposed to be for my pc.
