I purchased an HP QuickDock about a year ago, the silver one... and I was wondering if it's compatible with the new HP DV4T laptops? Thanks

The dv4t ships with expansion Port 3 which HP has been using for a couple of years now. Since your quickdock was purchased only a year ago, it should be capable of using the ep3, so as long as its ep3 compatible it should work with the dv4t.

There are other threads on this subject. They say that the DV4T probably will not charge from the dock if its not the newer one. If its the 3000 series, which has expansion slot 3, it will not charge your DV4T. but the usb ports etc should all work. You would need to use two power cords, one for the laptop, and one for the expansion base.

    I hope this helps
