Not sure if anybody noticed but there are some quickplay update available. One is to update to version 3609 and the second is a skin package that includes two new skins. I don't know what the update fixes or addresses. You must go through quickplay to access the updates and I couldn't find them on HP.com. You just need to load quickplay to get the main page then click the quickplay logo on the bar of icons(the one in between the photo and windows icons). Then that should bring you to the upgrade and enhancement page. To check your current version click on the "i" (third from the top on the left) and then click on "about" and it will tell you the build (build number 2.3 3111).
The update upgrades it from 2.3 3111(or what ever your current build is) to 2.3 3609. To update just click on the picture of the current selection next to the list or double click on the items in the list. Or now that I'm thinking of it I guess I could just post the links here.

Your welcome. I hope it helped. Still not sure what the update does though. But I am sure liking the new "Wavy" skin instead of the original skins.

i tried it but did not work, the installation is looking for QuickPlay v2.3... mine is ver 2.1.2811
where do i find ver 2.3? -
Not sure. I couldn't find anything on HP. You are probably going to have to go through quickplay itself. Just follow the directions in the original post to get updates from Quickplay.

I just downloaded the update, but it didn't solve a problem I am having.
I cannot play .wmv files using QP, regardless of whether I am in the OS or using QP directly.
I have tested, and can play, .wma audio, .mpg and .avi video, but no .wmv.
Anyone else have this problem?
I spent a couple of hours chatting with an HP support person and they suggested uninstalling QP and re-installing. I have an HP Pavillion dv9005us notebook and I would have to re-install from the recovery partition. I REALLY don't want to have to do that if I can avoid it.
Alternatively, if anyone knows of a good, free program that can convert .wmv files to .mpg or .avi, that might work, too.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
