I have a HP Pavilion dv9000 series laptop. Previously while using the quicklay buttons, they used to show the function on the screen. Example, if i pressed stop, then a Stop written in green would show in the bottom-left corner of the screen. But since a few days all those buttons have stopped showing anything on the screen. Is it a virus or something? How can i get it back?

My Vista dv6000 never did that, but all the buttons work. I think that was just an XP feature. You might be able to fix that by reinstalling the Quick Launch Buttons software from HP's site. Just type in your exact model # (i.e. dv6233se) into the search box on their hompage. On the page that pops up, click on "software and driver downloads" and select your version of windows. Then there should be a link called "Quick Launch buttons". Download and install as prompted.
