The V6000 should have Quickplay as standard unless if itsnt sold in North America and didnt ship with Windows.

I live here in Finland, and I'm no sure wether it was or wasn't there by default, because I clean-installed XP on my V6000.

Is there any easy way to get quickplay working afterwards?? I know, I have to re-partition my HDD to leave that unallocated space for Quickplay....but how do I do it tghe easiest?

Well, according to HP Quickplay is only available in models which are to be sold in North America, so even if you do get the Quickplay installation files, you probably wont be able to install it. In systems which are not on the Quickplays approved list only a cut down verion of Quickplay(DVDPlay) which only allows you to play DVD gets installed. The direct play feature probably wont even install. In any case I would call HP and ask for a QP installation disc. They might or might not provide one. But if your system came preinstalled with Quickplay then you should be able to reinstall it by using the installation files located on the SWSetup folder which is located in the HP's stock version of Windows.

    Thanks for your answers.

I noticed that you own a Compaq with Force 430 chipset too....so, I'd like a comfirmation of some kind concerning my XP clean install... :).

I basically formatted my SATA drive, partitioned it, and installed windows. After installation just installed drivers (which I downloaded from HP site with another computer, after realizing I hadn't backed up the SWsetup-folder).

My XP is up and running....but after finding this forum and all those clean-install -guides...I've started doubting wether I did it right?

You also seem to have the Go 6150 graphic card. What kind of performance should I expect from it?? For example 3Dmark03 scores?

****....too much knowledge seems to only hurt.... :).

Your istallation method is just fine. As long as you have all the drivers installed, there shouldn be any problems. There is no issue of the SATA drivers on the AMD versions of these laptops. So no need to follow any of those guides.

As for the 6150 it should run older games pretty wel but will definately struggle with the latest titles. It is still better than most integrated graphics but cannot hold a candle to dedicated graphics cards. I havent run 3DMark03 but it scores ~613 with 3DMark05.
