    Hi everyone,
I got this HP dv9330ca a few weeks ago, all I did was resized & created partitions(But i kept the "recovery" partition as it is) using vista's system tools and it worked nicely with no problem. however i just found out today that now the Quickplay - the "Q" button and the "DVD" button on the top of the keyboard did not work anymore... same as the quickplay buttons on the small remote control. I'm sure that the Quickplay software itself works because i could launch it from the start menu. I also tried pressing the Quickplay touch-button when the power was off, it worked(booted up to system, but no quickplay software launched). it's only the two buttons on the keyboard, since the playback controls and the volume controls are working fine. I totally have no clue why it is like this, i didn't do anything related to it, i guess. it worked a few days ago. so any ideas? thanks...

Try reinstalling the Quicklaunch Buttons using drivers from HP's website.

To Randy: thanks for the information. unfortunately that isn't my problem... my system is vista 64bit, and the button doesn't launch the Quickplay program even when it's in the fully booted-up state(in the windows system)...

To SBR: I've tried reinstalling the driver, it didn't work... :( so sad...

Have you tried uninstalling and then reinstalling QuickPlay itself then installing Quicklaunch Buttons again?

Edit: also take a look in the device manager under the "Human Interface Devices" category and see if there are any errors or unrecognized devices.

You cannot reinstall the HP Quick Launch Buttons doing a repair installation, you have to Uninstall it first, reboot the computer and than Install it again. If you don't reboot between uninstalling a reinstalling the installation will not work (Some services that are used by Quick Launch do not get uninstalled until you reboot.) Also if you are running Vista I think you need version 6.20d. Also try re-installing Quickplay before installing the QLB software, if certain reg keys are missing QLB will not know Quickplay has been installed.
