    Greetings all,

I just got a new HP dv6449 and am having a problem. When you boot up the computer, sounds work from the laptop speakers. As soon as I touch a volume button on the quickplay bar, the sound stops working from the speakers. However, if I plug in headphones, the sound will still be playing.

Is this a known issue or has anyone else had this problem? I've searched the forums but havent found anything.

As for the sound card, it says is a high defenition something or other. I appologize for not having the detail but I am at work. I'm running Vista Premium with 2 GB of memory.

Please let me know! Thanks for all your help.

sounds like your sound driver is conflicting with QuickPlay driver.
the best you can do is to uninstall and reinstall both the sound card driver and the quickplay button driver.

good luck on figuring it out
