Hey Quickster, I wanted to know how exactly you feel about your laptop. I am definitely leaning towards the zx5000, and I would love to hear what you think about the notebook, if you do not mind filling me in..... things like.....screen clear? processor fast? good video card? battery life? difficult to carry around? options that come with computer? design? etc.? Also, have you had any problems with anything? Thank you!

    Hey
I've had my machine for about 2 months now. I need to put together a review, but I was using school as an exuse and now its summer and I'm just lazy.

As for how the machine performs. It's great I can play all my favorite games on it while sitting wherever I want. The screen is brite and clear, the processor is very well suited for what I need. The video card is excellent m10 9600 not quite as nice as my 9600 AIW Pro in my desktop but its pretty close.
If you get the 8cell battery I've heard you get about 2 hours of battery life. However, I have the 12 cell and you get about 3.5~4 hours of life out of it.
The kensington backpack I found fits it perfectly and has a nice spot for the power adapter and everything else I need to carry. Thus moving it is not a problem for me.
The machine is nice and quiet while relatively cool. Last night I was playing counter-strike for about 2~3 hours and it was sitting on my lap the whole time without making me uncomfortable.
The speakers in the machine are very nice and will get very loud while remaining clear.
If you have any other questions feel free to ask also check out the questions and my responses to the other topic, I think,
    "zx5000 - best?"

HP. com doesn't have the 9600 Video card anymore as a choice for configuration, only the 9200. It also doesn't offer the P4M 2.4.

Question for ya: Would you still have bought HP if only the 9200 was available and which CPU would you go for (P4 2.8 or P4 w/HT)?

Lastly, what was your second choice and if HP was not available, what other notebook would you consider?

    Thanks.

my second choice was another HP actually the zt3000 with the 9200, after that though I'd probably go with an emachine 6809 (i believe thats the right model)

Would you have been happy with the 9200 video board? Do you think you would have gotten the same or close to the aquamark score of the 9600?

I wouldn't get the same score, because it is an older card, but it would be able to play all of my strategy games fine, and possibly counter-strike, since it runs around 99fps for the most part on the 9600.

If anyone has the zt3000 or a laptop with a 9200, perhaps you could better answer how well the gpu handles games.

I have the zx5000 with the 9200, P4m 2.8 and it plays the few games I have with no problems.

MOHAA and the 2 expansion packs, Call Of Duty, Battlefield 1942, NASCAR Thunder 2004, Delta Force-Black Hawk Down, Jetfighter V, and Vietcong.

Hey, I like war games and NASCAR[ :D]
