    i have a R3000T and i want to upgrade to win XP pro. My question is if it is safe/recomended by compaq. I have been all over their website and i cant find it.

    Off the top of my head I would say it will work. You may want to consult with HP before doing this. I had a Presario 2100 series. It ran Pro very well.

    I got my R3000T from HP installed with XP Pro, I later installed Pro and there's no problem. The requirements for the OS's is the same so I wouldn't worry about that, but unless you need the features Pro offers why bother?
