Thank you for the reply but how did you get a zx5000 with a 2.4 P mobile? When I look at the web page these are what we have to choose from:
Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 2.80 GHz
Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 3.00 GHz w/HT Technology
Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 3.20 GHz w/HT Technology
Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 3.40 GHz w/HT Technology
I ordered the P4 3.00 GHz w/HT but I doubt I will get the 4 hours you get, even if I got 3 I'd be exstatic! -
The available options on the computer have changed--computer manufacturers are always updating the possible configurations.
I have a zx5000, P4 3.2 ghz w/ HT, 512 megs of ram, 40 gig hd, 64 meg Radeon 9200, 15.4" screen, with a 12 cell battery. I get around 2 1/2 hours of battery life.

I have a zx5000 with specs basically identical to Quikster's...
And my battery life is the same (go figure [] )...4 hours with a mobile Pentium 2.4/ 12 cell battery.
Unfortunately, it looks like HP is no longer offering the mobile pentium as an option with the zx5000 or the compaq r3000t...but who knows--maybe they'll add it again, like they recently added back the ATI 9600.

Thanks for the help, I ordered it mine thinking it was a mobile P4. It never occured to me that they would use desktop versions but if the 12 cell gets 3 hours I'll be really happy! Anything under 2 and a half and I will not. I'm switching from the R3000Z and I was getting the 3.5-4 hours and loved it! Just had a sucky GPU and hard drive speeds.
