Hi I can't tell the differene between the compaq R3000T and the HP zx5000. From the HP site the R3 is a little bit cheaper than the zx of the same specs. Is there a reason for this that I can't find?

You're asking us to apply logic to marketing weasles. It can't be done.

Buy whichever is cheaper and/or looks better to you.

they are both great machines with the same parts, configure both and get the cheaper unless the looks are important in one over the other

Yeah, with everything else equal, go with the one that you like the looks of better. After all, you will be looking at it quite a bit [ :)]

zx5000 has K-H speakers which are better than those in Compaq.
