I was thinking of installing Radlinker to overclock my video card up to its noral specs of 350MHz Memory 283MHz. The system comes underclocked at 310MHZ Memory 190.5MHz I just want to know if its a safe thing to do? I will probably only turn it up to that when playing a game then turn it back down but I do play up to 2 hours in a row. If its not safe I won't do it. I don't want to do any heat mod's to my system right now, maybe when I'm out of warrenty. I would expect it shouldn't get too hot sense that is the normal speed for this GPU. I suppose they turned it down for battery life/heat sense its a notebook?

I think it should be ok but dont trust me ive never oced b4 lol. Btw didnt you oc to get those scores in ur sig b/c theres no way u got those at stock clocks. I only get 2460 on 3dmark03 w/mine.

I ran radlinker and overclocked my zx5000's 9600. Its at 325 core and 225mem right now...
Just move up in small increments and then run something like aquamark to test it. If you see little white splots everywhere, your artifacting and your memory settin is too high, if it locks up your core is too high. -
thanks for the info, you are the first to give me a nice clear answer. I knew that the spots were a problem sign but never knew it ment the memory its self was too high so thank you very much for the help! Your numbers don't seem very high either, I mean the memory is a up some but the gpu clock speed is only 15MHz higher then the stock speed of 310 so I would think you could leave it there all the time. I think I will just turn it up for the games though. I wish I could use the ati utilities for over clocking but they won't install on my system because its a notebook.

I run 325/225 for 3DS Max however I have pushed it too 375/275 and it ran aquamark without artifacts scoring about 24k points. I just turn it down to be on the safe side. I wasnt able to get it past 350/250 before I lapped the CPU heatsink(read my thread in notebook mods forum) since then the CPU puts out less heat and I'm able to up the GPU a bit, if you have the right sand paper and a couple hours time I recommend you do this, the heatsink was very rough when I uninstalled it, I was quite shocked at how poor the machining was on the surface. After I lapped it though it was mirror shiny.
Hope this helped,
Matt
