    R3240US CD/DVD Drive Specs?

    Does anyone have the specs of the drive that comes with the Compaq R3240US? I know it is a DVD burner, and in the + format, but what are the actual specs for write-at-once, etc?

    If you goto the Device Manager and look at your DVD drive, it'll give you the exact brand & model of the burner. Enter that info into Google and it'll give you some sites that will tell you what the drive is capable of doing.

    But without the exact model of the drive or your unit (model from underside of notebook), this is what I found, but it may not be your drive:

    IDE DVD+RW drive - 4X DVD+R write, 4X DVD+RW rewrite, 8X DVD-ROM read , 12X CD-R write, 10X CD-RW rewrite, 32X CD-ROM read IDE DVD+RW drive - 4X DVD+R write, 4X DVD+RW rewrite, 8X DVD-ROM read , 12X CD-R write, 10X CD-RW rewrite, 32X CD-ROM read
