    Hello everyone,

I am considering getting the r3240ca laptop.. It can be found at a pretty good price right now in Canada, and I think it offers great "bang for the buck" at those prices.

However, I am having a hard time finding the full specs for this laptop... Does anyone know if it ships with the 8- or the 12-cell battery? Anywhere I could find the full specs?

Also, is there any way Canadians can "configure" their own laptop on Compaq's (HP's) website? I know it can be done on the US website, but haven't found how to do it on the .ca site. If it can't be done.. any Canadian ever tried to order from the US web site? How was the experience?

    Thanks a lot.

    Charles

I have it and it's great.

The only slight complaints are that it's a bit big (though not too bad compared to most desktop replacements) and I had to get an external HD because I was running low on space. Of course I use it for high-end music production, plus I download gobs of music and games and movies. I think you'll be very happy with it. It runs everything very fast, stable, with minimal heat or anything like that. Future shop in TO is selling it for $1600 which is about $200 less than I bought it for last august. Go for it!
