    It's 2.4GHz with 1MB L2 cache. The 3800+ is 2.4GHz with 512MB L2 cache.

The desktop Athlon 64 4000+ is 2.6 ghz. The one in the r4000 is a 2.4, but can be 2.6. That is because AMD automatically overclocks their processors for desktops, because its pretty safe, just they dont do it on notebook models because it would take entirely too much power consumption. Also Hp designed the mainboard to slow it down a bit by reducing voltage and multipliers

That's not accurate. The desktop 4000+'s are 2.4GHz/1MB L2 too. They offer the same power management that the DTR notebook 4000+ chip uses. AFAIK the only difference between the two chips is that the notebook chip might lack the protective aluminum lid that the desktop chip has, and I vaguely recall someone here saying that it has the lid, in which case it is a plain ol' desktop chip. See here.

    Here's how it goes:

    Desktop and Laptop(DTR) AMD64 4000+ are 2.4GHz, 1MB L2

    AMD Mobile Athlon 64 4000+ is 2.6GHz, 1MB L2 - check AMD's website

Yes, but HP is using socket 939 Athlon 64s in their notebooks. The Mobile Athlon 64 chips are only available in Socket 754.

Exactly. So run CPU-Z and tell us everything! :D The brand new Mobile 4000+ CPU should only draw 62w and will also have SSE3 instruction, being 0.09micron and have better power management while being faster! That is lucky if you got one of those! Didn't knew they reached market yet.
